On a mega-hot day in Hungary (track temps around 49C/120F), it’s Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes who pips Vettel’s Red Bull for pole, with Romain Grosjean in the Lotus a surprising 3rd on the grid for the last race before the August break.
This was Mercedes’ seventh pole position this year and Hamilton’s fourth. Let’s see if the Silver Arrows can be more consistent in turning great starting positions into wins going forward.
